Building a Robot Cart for the Lilac Parade

Data Wolves, Mount Columbia’s FTC team, was invited to participate in Calgary’s Lilac Parade – the first parade to open the summer season in Calgary.

We wanted to show case our robot, but it couldn’t drive fast enough to keep up with the parade participants. We decided to build a small wooden cart on which the robot would be able to drive, turn, pick up foam glyphs and demonstrate how fun robotics is to the parade on lookers.

We built our cart at Fuse33 – our makerspace hosts.
